Welcome to Antiquity Oaks Bath and Body! I'm Deborah, head soapmaker, goatherder and mom! I started making my own soap because I had become allergic to the commercial soaps on the market. One after another, they all started making me itch and sneeze. I had always loved fragrances and body care products, so when I was limited to using only one brand of unscented soap from the health food store, I got bored really fast! Shortly after we realized a lifelong dream of moving to the country in 2002, someone told me about goat milk soap. I thought that if I could control the ingredients, I could play around with fragrances and find some that worked for me! To my surprise, I found I could use MANY of the fragrances that I tried. After doing some research, I realized it wasn't the commercial fragrances that made me itch -- it was the harsh ingredients in commercial soap, which is really detergent. Once I discovered that I wasn't allergic to a lot of fragrances, I found myself knee-deep in soap! So, I started giving it to friends as gifts, and they liked it so much, they started asking if they could buy it.

As they say, one thing led to another. Once I realized I could make my own soap, it was only natural to start researching all of those other bath and body products that I had loved and used for years! Bath salts came first, followed by sugar scrubs, massage oil, body butters, bath oil, and the rest (as they say) is history!
